A unique feature of buya.org is our “Proof of Impact”. 

On purchases of $100 or more, buya.org asks charities to furnish an impact statement after the purchase has been implemented in the field. This statement called the "Proof of Impact" contains one or more of the following: a short paragraph telling about the person(s) who received the item or a message from the recipient with their story of how the purchase impacted their life. We also ask for a photo of the person(s) effected whenever possible.

Because some of the causes listed on buya.org are from small remote villages in third world countries, a Proof of Impact statement is not possible on every purchase but we will work very hard to obtain one when possible. Also, each Proof of Impact is written by by a different person whether by a charity representative or the actual recipient and may need to be translated so the quality of the Proof of Impact can vary greatly from one to the other.

The time to receive a Proof of Impact statement will vary depending on the item and location you chose. Some items take a few months to implement and some will take many months. Proof of Impacts are sent via email to keep costs to a minimum. Please note: some virus protection software may place these in the "Junk" folder by mistake.
